Acceptable Forms of Identification
Signers must show valid identification. If expired, it must have been issued within 5 years.
Legal Documents:
- Driver's license or identification card issued by California DMV.
- U.S. Passport issued by the State Department of the United States.
- Other State-Approved identification card consisting of any one of the following (must contain a photograph, description of the person, signature of the person, and an identifying number):
- Military ID issued by any branch of the United States Armed Forces (Please note we
cannot use the new Military IDs with the chip since they do not have a visible
signature or physical description).
- Passport issued by a foreign government if stamped by the U.S. Immigration and
Naturalization Service or the United States Citizenship and Immigration Service.
- Driver's license issued by another state or Canadian or Mexican public agency
authorized to issue DL.
- Identification card issued by another state.
- Inmate ID issued by California Department of Corrections (if the inmate is in custody).
Disclosures
* Hiring a mobile notary includes additional charges for travel fees.
* If the signer does not seem aware of their actions, I must, by law,
decline the notarization.
* A notary public completing notarizations verifies only the identity of
the individual who signs the document, not the document's
truthfulness, accuracy, or validity.
* I am not an attorney licensed to practice law in any state and do not
give advice or accept fees for legal advice or legal services.
Therefore, I cannot provide any advice on preparing, drafting, or
selecting legal documents.
* Signer MUST understand and speak English.
